Refund policy
Cancellation and Refund Policy
1) Cancellations can be made within 24 hours of your booking being made for a full refund less a $5 payment processing fee OR provide a credit note to the full value that is valid for 12 months (whichever you prefer). However, if your order has already been packed for postage or pick-up, or has been posted/collected then no refund or credit note will be applied. Cancellations made after 24 hours will receive a credit note to the full value that is valid for 12 months.
2) Bookings may be rescheduled at your request as long as the chosen Garment is available, and you contact Borrowed Society via email 7 days or more before the Booking Start Date. If the Garment is not available, and there is no suitable alternative garment, then you will be issued a store credit that is valid for 12 months. Only 1 reschedule can be made.
3) Garments may be exchanged at your request as long as the chosen Garment is available, and you contact Borrowed Society via email 7 days or more before the Booking Start Date. Any difference in fees will need to be paid immediately. No refunds/credit notes will be given if the new Garment is priced less than the original Garment.
4) Bookings are refunded using the original payment method.
Late Delivery
In the event of your order not being received by/on your Booking Start Date/Event we will refund in full less delivery fees.
Refunds are only available if the Garment is returned unworn and scanned at a NZ Post counter by the following business day after arrival, and the booking was made 4 business days or more before the booking start date (5 for rural addresses).
Refunds will not be given if:
- You have selected the incorrect shipping option (eg. Standard delivery instead of Rural delivery for a Rural Address.
- You have entered incorrect or incomplete address information causing a delay.
- You have redirected the parcel to a different address or pick up point as this can add 2-3 days on and will be considered interference to the delivery of the item.
Fit Guarantee
For added peace of mind when booking online we have created our Fit Guarantee, so that if you receive your online rental and it doesn’t quite fit or the style doesn’t suit you, then you may receive a 50% credit of the hire fee.
To qualify, simply follow these steps:
1. Email hello@borrowedsociety.co.nz with your order number to let us know you require a Fit Guarantee
2. Keep the tag on the item and return to us right away (see details below)
3. Wait to hear back from us regarding your credit*
For a credit*, you must complete step 1 above on or before the rental start date. Your rental must also be:
- Still in the same condition as when received, with all tags attached.
- Dropped to an NZ Post or Drop-off location within 24 hours of when it was delivered or received.
* If the Garment needs to be cleaned or repaired the fee will be deducted from your credit. If the Garment shows signs of having been worn you will not be entitled to a credit. Credit is valid for 12 months from the date of your event.
Please note that the Fit Guarantee does not apply to Back Up dress bookings.
