Do you offer Try Ons?
Yes! We offer both in-person try-on appointments and postal try-on options.
If there is not enough time before your event for a try on, you can also add a Back Up dress to your booking.
What if my dress doesn't suit me or fit right?
For added peace of mind when booking online we have created our Fit Guarantee, so that if you receive your online rental and it doesn’t quite fit or the style doesn’t suit you, then you may receive a 50% credit of the hire fee.
To qualify, simply follow these steps:
1. Email hello@borrowedsociety.co.nz with your order number to let us know you require a Fit Guarantee
2. Keep the tag on the item and return to us right away (see details below)
3. Wait to hear back from us regarding your credit*
For a credit*, you must complete step 1 above on or before the rental start date. Your rental must also be:
- Still in the same condition as when received, with all tags attached.
- Dropped to an NZ Post or Drop-off location within 24 hrs of when it was delivered or received.
* If the Garment needs to be cleaned or repaired the fee will be deducted from your credit. If the Garment shows signs of having been worn you will not be entitled to a credit. Credit is valid for 12 months from the date of your event.
Please note that the Fit Guarantee does not apply to Back Up dress bookings.
How long can I keep the rental for?
As part of the booking process, you select the Rental Period you would like. More information about how to use the Booking Calendar can be found here.
What happens if I return my rental late?
Returning your garment AFTER your chosen return date can result in the next borrower missing out on their garment.
For this reason it is important to select your Booking Return Date for a day that you will be able to return the garment.
If you return your garment late or incorrectly (used a street box instead of returning to a NZ Post counter) then late fees will apply.
Do I need to clean my rental before returning?
We take care of the cleaning for you, so all you need to do is wear and enjoy!
We do ask that you treat the garment with care however so that it can be shared and enjoyed by others. Think of it as borrowing a dress from your best friend!
Additional fees will apply if the garment requires drycleaning (or repairs). Please contact us as soon as possible if anything happens.
For extra peace of mind, Rip and Stain Protection can be added to your booking.
I booked a dress but would like to swap to a new arrival, is that possible?
We are happy to exchange your garment if it is available and we have been contacted 7 days or more prior to your Booking Start Date.
